New Year, New Class, New Work, oh my!

Happy New Year! I hope that the holiday season was kind to all. I had a wonderful snowy break up in New York with family and friends. The year has started with lots of busyness that I’m balancing with deep rest. I’ve been deep cleaning my home and the excavation is helpful to deep clean my head and heart too. Making room for all that is next and all that I want to call in.

To that, I’m excited to announce I will be offering a one day Mixed Media Journaling Workshop this coming Saturday January 11th 2025 at the Workhouse Arts Center. We’ll 4 hours to experiment with simple gelli printing techniques to create collage papers, image transfer methods that allow you to make certain images transparent for cool layering effects, and some basic collage fun! The tuition covers instruction, and comes with one of my sketchbooks for free as well as access to basic supplies. Click the link below for more information and to sign up if you’re local and interested!

I also want to officially invite you all to my show at the Workhouse as the February Featured Artist on Saturday February 8th from 6-9pm. It’s the Second Saturday Open Studio Night for February and there will be other activities going on throughout the campus so it’s a great night to come out. I have a new body of work I am excited to share along with a mixture of the past years accomplishments. I hope you can make it!

For the rest of this month it’ll be show prep followed by some studio reorganizing and major admin. It is Residency Application Season so that’ll be a lot of time on my computer. The year has lots of possibilities including getting some of my work into a gallery. But another major goal I have is to get my digital work more traction and possibly create some digital downloads and textiles. To help me with this I’ve actually joined a creative on-line group called The Foundry. I’m excited to have access to a large cache of experts and industry knowledge so stay tuned.

For now I’m going to go grab another coffee, catch up with a friend and then hunker down for the next few days as the area prepares for a snow storm which I am SO EXCITED FOR! I have multiple cameras and my snow boots ready! Hope everyone stays safe and warm and as always, come say hi if you are in the area!

Thank you for being here~
